On March 25,2026, the plenary meeting of the G3 International Visual Alliance was successfully held at the W4 Conference Room of the Shanghai Pudong New International Expo Center. Organized by the Machine Vision Industry Alliance (CMVU), the event was attended in person by representatives from the American Association for Automated Imaging (A3) and the German Mechanical Equipment Manufacturers Association (VDMA), while participants from the Japan Industrial Imaging Association (JIIA) and the European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) joined online.

The meeting commenced with representatives from various associations sequentially presenting updates on their standardization activities and G3 standard revisions. Subsequently, the representative from Japan's JIIA reported on the latest progress in converting the G3 standard into an ITU international standard, while the representative from Germany's VDMA outlined the updates to the G3 standard technical manual. Following this, all associations voted to adopt the CMVU's proposal for a testing standard for key parameters of 3D cameras.
This standard proposal was put forward by Shanghai Shengxiang Company, with Bosight Image, DeepView Intelligence, Lingyun Optics, Xianlin 3D, and Yuanwang Imaging participating as core standard group members in drafting the standard draft submitted to G3. The approval of this proposal marks a significant breakthrough for CMVU in the field of G3 international visual standard development—the first standard independently led and authored by a China company and CMVU, which has successfully passed G3's review and certification. This outcome signifies that China's 3D camera R&D and testing capabilities have approached international advanced levels, endowing the country with the capacity and influence to lead international standard-setting efforts. CMVU will continue collaborating with G3 to establish a "3D Camera International Working Group," integrating 3D camera-related technical standards with existing G3 standards and progressively refining testing standards for key 3D camera parameters.
Finally, the associations have updated the organizational details for the International Visual Standards Conference (IVSM). The 2026 spring IVSM conference, hosted by EMVA Europe, will be held in Prague, Czech Republic from April 13 to 17, where the technical aspects of the GigE Vision 3.0 standard will be finalized. The 2026 autumn IVSM conference, organized by A3 USA, will take place in Ottawa, Canada from October 19 to 23, during which CMVU will host its first offline workshop on 3D camera testing standards. Stay tuned to the CMVU official WeChat account for the latest updates on the IVSM conferences.
